ABOUT US
Hi there! I'm Ian Stout, an award-winning filmmaker focused on telling stories that matter. My goal is to elevating individuals, companies and brands that have a meaningful mission. In 2008 I co-founded Vertica Productions, LLC with a desire to begin creating beautiful content that is driven by heart, specifically through the lens of visually stunning cinematography.
That vision has expanded and Vertica Productions has becoming one of the best video production companies in Portland Oregon. All our success is based on fostering and maintaining quality relationships with the clients we serve and seeking out the most professional freelance filmmakers to collaborate with here in the Pacific Northwest.
At Vertica, we create everything from scripted narrative and documentary films, to music videos and promotional videos for professionals at all stages of growing their business.
Some accolades include, filming and producing the pilot episode for the docu-series "Jump The Fence" which won Best First Feature at the 2021 Arizona International Film Festival.
Ian's short film “To No End” (2020) swept the film festival circuit with 8 nominations and 3 wins, including best cinematographer and best sound design.
Ian is currently producing "The Way Through" a feature length film about the healing potential of MDMA assisted therapy for PTSD. As a combat veteran himself, this project is the most important of his film career so far. The screenplay recently took a semi-finalist position in 2 screenwriting competitions including the prestigious Los Angeles International Screenplay Awards and placed as a finalist at the Portland Screenplay Awards.
No matter what kind of video production we are working on together, the same core values apply. We will go above and beyond to exceed your expectations. Win-win thinking is the only way to collaborate. Oh yeah, and let's keep it FUN!
